A recent video from Mumbai’s AC Local trains has gone viral, showing an elderly man attempting a risky move by gripping the doors to prevent them from closing. The footage, shared by the “Unseen Mumbai” Instagram page, has sparked widespread condemnation, with many calling it “sheer stupidity.”

In the video, the man can be seen gripping the edge of the automated doors, trying to keep them from closing completely. Despite the potential danger, he holds on until the doors forcefully shut, and then jumps inside the coach.

Social Media Reactions

The incident, which was posted in late October but gained attention in recent days, has received over two lakh views. Many netizens have expressed their disapproval, with one commenting, “Teri wajah se pichhe se ane wali train late ho jati hai aur Crowd aur bhi jyada badhta hai…. Aise logo ko shiksha deni chahiye,” which translates to, “Because of you, the trains coming from behind get delayed, and the crowd increases even more…. Such people should be taught a lesson.”

Others suggested that law enforcement should be more active, with one user writing, “Andar ek tho hawaldar rehna chahiye… aisi harkaton pe challan nahi do lathi wahi jad do,” meaning, “There should be a cop inside… If not a fine, beat them up for such actions.”

While most reactions were critical of the elderly man’s dangerous act, a few alarmingly pointed out that such behavior has become commonplace. “It’s normal (these days),” one commenter wrote, highlighting a concerning trend of passengers engaging in risky actions on public transport.
