The Delhi Orthopaedic Association (DOA) successfully held its first quarterly meet, which was themed “Sports Injuries,” marking a noteworthy accomplishment. Ishant Sharma, a pace bowler and cricket player, was the chief guest at the event on January 21. Participating in this academic endeavor were 250 doctors and medical professionals as well as over 65 experts on sports injuries from across the nation. Under the auspices of the West Delhi Orthopaedic Association (WDOA), the event took on the form of a national conference and included live broadcasts of practical lectures and discussions on Ortho TV for the first time.

The WDOA-hosted Quarterly Meet accomplished a number of noteworthy firsts, including the addition of three workshops and an interesting quiz, which was unprecedented for this kind of forum. Expert medical professionals and representatives held comprehensive conversations regarding the management and recuperation tactics for sports-related injuries. Practical, hands-on experiences were also emphasized, especially in the field of athletic ligament reconstruction/repair surgeries. Ishant Sharma talked to doctors about his experiences during the event, highlighting the difficulties he had as a result of sports injuries while he was a member of the Indian cricket team. His recuperation process and subsequent contributions to Team India’s wins and trophies were praised in spite of his numerous setbacks.

Dr. Jujhar Singh, Secretary of the event, extended gratitude to the President of DOA, Dr. Gurinder Bedi, Secretary DOA Shekhar Srivastav, President WDOA Dr. Manoj Vats, Secretary WDOA Samarjeet Singh, Ajay Gandotra, Harmesh Kapoor, RK Mishra, and the entire EC of DOA and WDOA for their invaluable support.

The Fit India Movement, the Government of India, the Delhi Medical Council, and Ortho TV all worked together to make the Quarterly Meet a huge success.
