Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh, currently touring India with his “Dil-Luminati” series, faced controversy ahead of his Hyderabad concert. Hours before the show on Friday, the Telangana government issued a legal notice prohibiting him from performing songs promoting alcohol, drugs, or violence. This action followed a complaint from a Chandigarh resident who alleged that Diljit performed such songs, including Panch Tara and Patiala Peg, during a previous concert in New Delhi. The notice also advised against involving children at the concert, citing safety concerns.

During his show, Diljit humorously addressed the issue on stage, winning over fans. In a video shared online, he quipped, “Ek khushkhabari hai aaj mujhe koi notice nahi aaya… aur aaj yahan par bhi main koi gana sharab pe nahi gaunga Kyhuki Gujrat Dry State hai.” He added, “Main khud sharab nahi peeta, lekin Bollywood ke jo kalakar hai, jo sharab ke advertisement karte hain, Diljit Dosanjh sharab ka advertisement nahi karta. Mujhe chhedo mat. Main jahan jaata hoon chup karke apna program karta hoon.”
