The administration in Narmada district has urged residents to adhere to prohibitory orders against entering the crocodile-infested Narmada river, following an incident where a woman was dragged away by a crocodile near Gora village near the Statue of Unity.

In a public appeal, the administration emphasized the dangers of entering the river, especially after the recent incident involving the woman who was washing clothes when she was attacked. The appeal reminded citizens about the prohibitory order issued by the Additional District Magistrate CK Undhad, which prohibits entering the Narmada River or other water bodies at various dangerous spots for any purpose.

Despite the order, there have been instances of people entering the river, risking their lives. The appeal comes after a tragic incident on May 14, where seven individuals from Surat, including six minors, drowned in the river in Poicha due to the strong river current.
