A video circulating online shows a pack of nine wolves howling outside a cabin in Quebec, Canada, where Michee Jules, 34, and his wife Maya Jules, 33, were staying in February to celebrate Michee’s birthday. The wolves’ appearance turned their celebration into an unexpected wildlife encounter. Despite being informed about wolves in the area, they never anticipated seeing so many right outside their glass-walled cabin.
Michee, a New Jersey-based photographer, told the ‘New York Post’, “It was a joyful experience to witness these animals up close.” He added, “I have a deep love for animals, and my passion lies in capturing moments of them interacting in their natural environment.”

During their week-long stay, the couple saw the wolves daily. Michee shared, “I couldn’t believe we were lucky enough to see the wolves so close up and so often.” He recalled, “When I opened the door to the wolves, I was very surprised by their calm reaction. I still kept my distance but I wasn’t bothered nor did I feel threatened.”
Expressing his enthusiasm, he added, “I’d definitely go back to Canada again just for this experience alone.”
Canada has one of the world’s largest wolf populations, with over 50,000 grey wolves, the second largest after Russia, according to the International Fund for Animal Welfare. Different species of wolves inhabit around 90 percent of their historic range within Canada.
