On Independence Day, the Indian Army posthumously honored Colonel Manpreet Singh with the Kirti Chakra for his bravery and sacrifice. Colonel Singh, who lost his life in September last year while fighting terrorists in Anantnag, is among the four personnel recognized with this prestigious award.
In addition to Colonel Singh, the Kirti Chakra was awarded to Rifleman Ravi Kumar and Major M. Naidu from the Indian Army. The Kirti Chakra is the nation’s second-highest peacetime gallantry award, recognizing exceptional valor in the face of extreme danger.
The recognition of these brave soldiers underscores their dedication and courage in protecting the country, highlighting the sacrifices made by the armed forces in their commitment to national security.
