Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the Union Budget 2024-25 unveiled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, calling it a development-focused plan reflecting the aspirations of India’s 1.4 billion citizens.

He highlighted the budget’s potential for growth, especially in agriculture and women’s empowerment, with allocations of Rs 1.52 lakh crore for farmers and over Rs 3 lakh crore for women.

CM Yogi emphasized the budget’s role as an economic framework for a “Developed India-Self-Reliant India,” focusing on comprehensive development across various societal segments, including rural areas, the poor, and youth. He welcomed the new tax slabs and provisions in the direct tax system, which provide significant relief to the middle class.

Finance Minister Sitharaman detailed key budget measures, including substantial funding for agriculture R&D, aiming to enhance oilseed production, storage, and marketing. She announced a three-year plan for digital public infrastructure in agriculture, targeting comprehensive coverage of farmers and their lands. This includes a digital crop survey for Kharif in 400 districts and updates to farmer and land registries.

Additionally, a new national cooperation policy will be introduced to boost the cooperative sector, enhance rural economic growth, and create job opportunities. Sitharaman’s budget outlines a vision for India’s economic advancement and self-reliance, with a goal of transforming the country into a $5 trillion economy and a global growth engine.
