Tiwari, who is actively involved in cultural and religious ceremonies, performed traditional customs, including offering ‘Arghya’ (water) to the Sun, along with other important rites. He also shared his wishes with the people of Delhi and the entire country, expressing hope for a prosperous year ahead. Tiwari’s participation underscored the festival’s significance, especially in northern India, where it is celebrated with deep devotion to honor the Sun God and seek blessings for health and prosperity.
The Laxman Mela Ground in Lucknow also saw a large gathering for Chhath Puja, with some devotees reaching the riverbank by performing the Dandavat Parikrama, a symbolic act of devotion.
Today marks the third and most important day of Chhath Puja, known as Sandhya Puja, where women observe a day-long fast and offer prayers to the setting sun—an event unique to this festival. This year, Chhath Puja began on November 5 with the ritual of Nahay Khay, leading up to today’s significant observance. According to the Drik Panchang, Brahma Muhurta commenced at 4:36 AM and ended at 5:26 AM, while Abhijit Muhurta is set from 11:40 AM to 12:26 PM on November 7.
