Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot held a review meeting at the police headquarters on Friday. During his visit, which lasted for approximately three hours, he discussed the ongoing special campaigns across the state with Director General of Police Umesh Mishra. A detailed report on the actions taken in response to these campaigns was presented to the Chief Minister.
Gehlot also announced that Constable Prahlad, who recently lost his life in a firing incident, would receive financial assistance of one crore rupees. In addition to this, job opportunities would be provided to family members on compassionate grounds, and agricultural connections would be facilitated. He commended the Rajasthan Police for their efforts saying that the state’s police force had been doing an excellent job lately.
He noted that the number of crimes and criminals had significantly decreased since the resumption of compulsory verification at police stations. Gehlot emphasized that the people of India should be ashamed of the false statements made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi about Rajasthan relating to rising crime rates.
Regarding the upcoming Assembly Elections, CM Gehlot instructed the police to take strict action against those attempting to create a communal atmosphere. He mentioned that ‘Operation Garima’ had been initiated for the safety of women and children, and culprits would face strict action.
The Chief Minister also expressed appreciation for the police personnel for their dedication and announced promotions based on seniority. This move aims to boost morale and efficiency among the police force while reducing unnecessary litigation in courts. Gehlot introduced these promotions on Independence Day, stating that promotions would be based on seniority and service records, which would nullify the chances of disputes and improve transparency.
