Border Security Forces (BSF), in collaboration with SBI Bank, conducted a “Grow with the Trees” plantation event at BSF Headquarters in Srinagar on Saturday.
The objective was to enhance green cover and raise awareness about the significance of tree planting. BSF officials, jawans, SBI Bank representatives, and schoolchildren from Kendria Vidyalay participated in the initiative.
This effort aims to promote sustainability and build a spirit of camaraderie and cooperation among all participants.
ANI quoted Commanding Officer Rajive Barduwaj, “The aim of the plantation is to make the campus here greener and to reduce the impact caused by global warming on the planet. Our forces play a vital role in doing so; our campuses in Rajasthan and other dry areas are also surrounded by greenery because of such drive… We have seen that this time the temperature has gone very high and everyone has been requested to plant a tree… If everyone in the country plants a tree, then there will be 140 crore trees, which will help to contain the rising temperature.”
“Global warming has been a very big problem, and we can make such small efforts to contain it. The State Bank of India is the biggest bank in the country, and it has always served the country. Because of it, it has also become our moral responsibility towards the environment as well…Pan India, we are organising such drives and we are planting trees wherever it is possible,” said SBI Branch Manager Nishan Sinhi.
The tree plantation event was successful, with many trees planted, reinforcing their commitment to sustaining a green and healthy environment in the area.
