Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have successfully eliminated five terrorists suspected of being linked with the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The encounter, which began on Thursday afternoon in the Samno pocket in the DH Pora region of Kulgam district, is currently in its final phases, according to Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Vidhi Kumar Birdi.
Acting on intelligence inputs about terrorist movements in the area, security forces initiated a search operation. The encounter ensued when a terrorist opened fire from a house. IGP Birdi revealed, “So far, five terrorists, possibly of LeT, have been killed, and some bodies have been sighted.”
The operation’s success is a severe setback for LeT’s criminal activities in the region. As the encounter comes to a close, the area is being painstakingly cleaned to guarantee the safety of residents and security personnel.
