In a meeting with Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) Limited officials, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma discussed the next phase of the metro and directed them to create a new Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the metro extension from Sitapura to Ambabadi and Vidyadhar Nagar.

On Friday, at the Chief Minister’s Office, Chief Minister Sharma met with representatives from JMRC.

CM Sharma emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring smooth transit for Jaipur citizens, citing the creation of Jaipur Metro as a national model metro system and said, “Providing easy transportation facilities to the people of Jaipur is the priority of the state government. Keeping this in mind, Jaipur Metro should be developed as a model metro across the country. In this project, expenses and costs should be properly assessed so that, along with proper utilisation of financial resources, better transportation facilities can also be provided to the common people.”

Phase 1-D of the Jaipur Metro, which will connect Mansarovar to the Ajmer Road intersection on the 200-foot bypass, is one of the projects listed in the 100-day action plan. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma recommended the timely laying of the foundation stone.

Sharma also gave staff instructions to think about future development options and integrate the Jaipur Metro’s connectivity with the city’s most populous neighborhoods.
Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, Principal Secretary (Chief Minister) Alok Gupta, Principal Secretary (Urban Development) T. Ravikant, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary (Chief Minister) Shikhar Agarwal, and senior JMRC officials were present at the meeting.
