Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, which hit the theatres on April 11, opened to a good response and collected Rs 16 crore (approx,) on the first day. It remained the top choice of movie buffs on its first Friday, April 12, In an exclusive conversation with ‘The Daily Guardian, Film Exhibitor Akshaye Rathi said the film is likely to collect between Rs 8 crore and Rs 9 crore on its second day.
“‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ is expected to make between Rs 8 crore and Rs 9 crore on Day 2 and hopefully will take the jump over the weekend,” Rathi said.
‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ hit screens alongside Ajay Devgn’s sports drama Maidaan. According to Rathi, the two will not affect each other as “they fall under different genres”. Interestingly, Amit Sharma’s film opened on a slow note, collecting nearly Rs 7 crore (including previews) on the first day. It is expected to do around Rs 5 crore on the second day.
Coming back to ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, it is an action entertainer featuring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff as soldiers on a mission to recover a stolen AI weapon from a masked mastermind. The cast includes Prithviraj, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F, Ronit Roy, Sonakshi Sinha.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s upcoming projects include ‘Sarfira’, the official remake of Suriya’s ‘Soorarai Pottru’, and his Marathi debut ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat’. He will also be seen in Welcome 3 and the second sequel to ‘Hera Pheri ‘ On the other hand Tiger Shroff is working on ‘Singham Again’.
