The comedy-drama film Bad Newz, featuring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk, has experienced a significant boost in its box office performance on its second day. Released on July 19, the film has garnered approximately ₹18.05 crore net in India within its first two days, according to Sacnilk.com.
On its second day, Bad Newz earned around ₹9.75 crore, marking an impressive growth of over 17 percent compared to its opening day figures. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film also stars Neha Dhupia and includes special cameos by Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma. The film’s unique take on the traditional rom-com genre explores the chaotic concept of heteropaternal superfecundation, humorously addressing the scenario of two fathers and one mother.
Anand Tiwari, Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Amritpal Singh Bindra are the co-producers of the movie.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh has predicted a robust performance for the film over the weekend, estimating that Bad Newz might earn around ₹33 crore by the end of its opening weekend. Adarsh noted, “The film’s strong performance in major centers is expected to drive its earnings higher over the weekend. With positive feedback and a strong start, Bad Newz should collect approximately ₹33 crore in its opening weekend.”
In a recent post on X, Adarsh praised the film’s successful launch, attributing its performance to an impactful trailer and popular song Tauba Tauba. He highlighted that while the film’s reception in mass areas was ordinary, its success in major centers would likely drive continued growth.
