Ashok Gehlot’s Cabinet: Crucial decisions and policy shifts unveiled

A cabinet meeting was convened at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. In the meeting, seals were put on 63 proposals. Among these, a significant decision was taken to allocate land to more than 200 social organizations for educational, social, and economic development in the state. Additionally, amendments were made to the rules for government jobs for orphaned children due to COVID-19. The cabinet also approved proposals to increase promotion opportunities for government employees and resolve salary disparities.
Land allocation to over 200 social organizations
The cabinet decided on an important resolution to allocate land at concessional rates to over 200 social organizations in the state for educational upliftment and social and economic development. With the approval of this proposal, these organizations will now be able to acquire land at a reserved rate of 10% for their activities. Furthermore, the cabinet has also approved a provision to apply this to 45 previously approved cases where organizations failed to deposit the amount. These organizations will also be eligible for land allocation at the reserved rate of 10%.
Beneficiaries of the ACP Scheme to receive promotions and increment
The cabinet has approved amendments to the Rajasthan Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2017. This will allow all employees of the fourth category service, ministerial service, subordinate service, and state service to receive the financial benefit of the Assured Career Progression (ACP) scheme upon completion of 9, 18, or 27 years of satisfactory service. This provision has been made following the 1992 order on selected pay scales.
Government jobs for children orphaned due to COVID-19
In a compassionate decision, the cabinet has approved amendments to various service rules to provide government jobs to children who were orphaned due to COVID-19 when they reached adulthood. This approval will allow such orphaned boys and girls to be appointed to various government positions, provided that the natural or adoptive parents who have passed away due to COVID-19 passed away on or before March 31, 2023.
Age relaxation for EWS Candidates in Rajasthan State Engineering Services
Economically weaker section (EWS) candidates will now receive an age relaxation similar to other reserved categories in the Rajasthan State Engineering Services. Now, male EWS candidates can avail of an age relaxation of 5 years, and female EWS candidates can avail of a relaxation of 10 years.
Amendments to Rajasthan Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2017
In a move to provide better promotion opportunities in various state services, the cabinet has approved amendments to the Rajasthan Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2017.
Approval of Rajasthan Green Hydrogen Policy 2023
The cabinet has approved the Rajasthan Green Hydrogen Policy 2023. This policy will facilitate investments and job creation in the state through projects based on green hydrogen. By 2030, the policy aims to establish projects with a capacity of 2000 KTPA (Kilo Tons Per Annum) and related infrastructure units, thereby boosting investment and employment opportunities in the state.
Approval of Rajasthan Biomass and Waste-to-Energy Policy 2023
The Cabinet has approved the Rajasthan Biomass and Waste-to-Energy Policy 2023, which encourages the co-firing of biomass in thermal power plants and the production of energy from biomass and waste. This policy aims to promote the use of surplus biomass and waste for electricity generation, reducing the need to burn excess biomass and improving solid waste management. It also opens up opportunities for investment and job creation in units related to these projects.
