Arshad Nadeem’s Independence Day Message Interrupted by Snoring

As Pakistan celebrates its 78th Independence Day on August 14, javelin star Arshad Nadeem, who recently won gold at the Paris Olympics, called for national unity. He urged Pakistanis to unite and change their social media profile pictures to commemorate the occasion. However, his heartfelt message was unexpectedly overshadowed by a loud snore in the background, which quickly caught the attention of the internet.

A video shared on X featured Nadeem saying, “On Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, I appeal to my entire nation to come together as one and make a firm decision that we are united. Just as on August 8, when winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics brought happiness not only in Pakistan but among Pakistanis around the world, I want you all to stand with me once again.” Meanwhile, a man’s snoring could be heard in the background.Nadeem, 27, added, “Just as I am kicking off this campaign by changing the profile pictures on all my social media accounts for August 14, I urge you all to join me in updating your profile pictures and proudly showing the world that we are Pakistani.”

The video quickly went viral, with many people commenting on the snoring. One user on X wrote, “Only in Pakistan can a gold medalist’s call to action be overshadowed by a snore-off!” Another commented, “This will be an iconic video for a few years at least,” while a third joked, “Snoring to glory.”In his Independence Day address, Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari called for the nation to “set aside differences” and work towards “unity, integrity, and economic stability.”

He echoed the words of Quaid, reminding the nation that to make Pakistan prosperous, the focus should be on the well-being of the people, particularly the poor. Zardari emphasized the importance of investing in the youth and women, improving service delivery, and fostering a business-friendly environment. He concluded by urging everyone to work for the upliftment of the people and make Pakistan a prosperous nation.
