The Indian Army has increased vigilance along the Line of Control (LoC) in response to the recovery of arms and ammunition in Kupwara district, intensifying efforts to prevent any potential infiltration, an army official revealed on Tuesday.
An official statement issued by the Army highlighted the apprehension of two individuals on Monday after the recovery of arms and ammunition in Kupwara district, emphasizing the army’s ongoing high alertness on the Line of Control in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Their continuous efforts are aimed at thwarting infiltration attempts originating from Pakistan.
Describing the LoC as a crucial barrier, the official noted its history of past infiltrations and security threats. The Indian Army’s consistent preparedness and resilience in countering these attempts were emphasized, attributing their success to extensive training, sophisticated surveillance systems, and strategic planning, thereby creating a multi-layered defense mechanism to deter potential infiltrations effectively.
Through a combination of regular patrols, cutting-edge technologies, and intelligence gathering, the army gathers critical information on any suspicious activities near the LoC. This intelligence is analyzed promptly and acted upon swiftly to neutralize any infiltrators before they breach Indian territory.
The Indian Army, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, established a Mobile Vehicle Interception Post (MVIP) at Gushi Bridge in Kupwara as part of Operation GUSHI. According to the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps’ official platform, this operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of four hand grenades, a pistol with ammunition, and other incriminating materials.
