The producers of the upcoming historical thriller ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan,’ starring Sara Ali Khan, have unveiled the film’s title track. Amazon Prime Video shared the track on Instagram, captioning it as a journey back to a time of courage and hope.
The music, composed by Akashdeep Sengupta, and sung by Romy, with lyrics by Darab Farooqui, delivers a powerful emotional message, evoking memories of the brave sacrifices made during India’s struggle for independence.
Set against the backdrop of the Quit India Movement of 1942, ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ is a fictional narrative inspired by real events. It pays homage to both celebrated and lesser-known heroes, capturing the spirit of bravery, patriotism, sacrifice, and resilience displayed by India’s youth during the freedom struggle.
Directed by Kannan Iyer and written by Iyer and Darab Farooqui, the film stars Sara Ali Khan in the lead role, alongside Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, Alexx O’Neil, and Anand Tiwari, with a special appearance by Emraan Hashmi.
The recently released official trailer of ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ received a positive response, offering a glimpse into the story of Usha, a college student in Bombay, who plays a pivotal role in the Quit India Movement by establishing an underground radio station.
