AAP Leader Arvind Kejriwal Meets Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Ahead of INDIA Bloc Meeting

In anticipation of the crucial INDIA bloc meeting on Tuesday, Arvind Kejriwal, the convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi Chief Minister, engaged in discussions with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin at Tamil Nadu Bhavan in Delhi. The meeting, coordinated by DMK MP TR Baalu, focused on various INDIA Alliance matters, including the recent suspension of opposition MPs.

AAP MP Raghav Chadha expressed concerns over the suspension of MPs, declaring it a “black day in India’s democracy.” He emphasized that Arvind Kejriwal is a significant force that the BJP fears.

Key leaders of the INDIA Alliance, including West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, have arrived in the capital for the meeting. Seat-sharing discussions are expected to dominate the agenda as the Lok Sabha elections are merely a few months away.

JMM MP Mahua Maji expressed confidence that the alliance parties would take steps to avoid repeating mistakes made in recent Assembly polls. The meeting is viewed as an opportunity to convey to the public that the alliance can effectively challenge and defeat the BJP.

AAP leader and Delhi Minister Atishi highlighted the importance of seat-sharing and other crucial points in the meeting, affirming AAP and Arvind Kejriwal’s commitment to the success of the India Alliance.

The INDIA, or ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ comprises opposition parties, including the Congress, united with the aim of countering the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The alliance’s theme, “Judega Bharat, Jeetega India” (India will unite, India will win), underscores its determination to challenge the ruling BJP-led government. Previous meetings in Patna, Bengaluru, and Mumbai laid the groundwork for collaborative strategies, emphasizing collective participation in the electoral process. Resolutions adopted during the Mumbai meeting underscored the commitment to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections collectively, with seat-sharing arrangements to be determined through a spirit of cooperation.
