India is preparing for the significant platinum celebrations of Republic Day with a captivating display of military prowess and cultural heritage at the ‘Kartavya Path’ in the national capital. President Droupadi Murmu will lead the nation in the celebrations, marking the journey of Amrit Kaal post the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ festivities. The parade, graced by French President Emmanuel Macron, emphasizes Viksit Bharat’s cultural diversity, ‘Aatmanirbhar’ military strength, and the growing Nari Shakti.

A historic moment unfolds as an all-women Tri-Service contingent marches down Kartavya Path for the first time. Women pilots will showcase their skills during the Indian Air Force’s fly-past, representing Nari Shakti. The Central Armed Police Forces’ contingents will exclusively feature women personnel.

The parade kicks off with over 100 women artists playing Indian musical instruments, leading with the traditional sounds of Sankh, Naadswaram, Nagada, etc. The 90-minute event displays the nation’s defense forces, including mechanized columns, state-of-the-art equipment, contingent marches, and a representation of cultural diversity.

A corresponding event is set for 9:30 am at the National War Memorial, India Gate. The chosen theme for this Republic Day is “Viksit Bharat” and “Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka,” highlighting India’s essential attributes as a supporter of democracy.

Under the themes of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka,’ around 13,000 special guests will participate, promoting Jan Bhagidari in the national festival. The Republic Day parade starts at 10:30 am and lasts approximately 90 minutes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay tributes at the National War Memorial before witnessing the parade at Kartavya Path.

President Murmu and President Macron will be escorted by the President’s Bodyguard, marking the elite Regiment’s 250 years of service. The traditional buggy, making a comeback after 40 years, will carry the two Presidents. The National Flag unfurls with a 21-gun salute, followed by flower petals showered by helicopters.

The parade, commanded by Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar, features a combined band and marching contingent of the French Armed Forces. A cultural extravaganza, ‘Vande Bharatam,’ will showcase ‘Cultural expression of women power – accomplishment through resolve.’ Ministry of Culture’s ‘Anant Sutra – The Endless Thread’ textile installation pays tribute to the saree.

Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane highlights women marching contingents, diverse cultural themes, and grassroots beneficiaries participating in the celebrations. The parade also witnesses an all-women Tri-Service contingent, showcasing the country’s progress and unity in diversity.

Security measures, including over 8,000 personnel and enhanced surveillance, are in place for a joyous and secure Republic Day celebration in Delhi.
