In connection with the Shivamogga ISIS conspiracy case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday arrested two terror operatives.
Meanwhile, the arrested operatives have been identified as Mazin Abdul Rahman and Nadeem Ahmed KA, in connection with a conspiracy hatched by the accused to further terror activities of the Islamic State (IS) in India.
Earlier in the case four other accused persons were arrested and on 19 September 2022 the case was registered at Shivamogga Rural Police Station in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district as FIR No. 325/2022 and on 4 November 2022 the case was re-registered by the NIA.
During the investigation, it was revealed that accused Maaz Muneer had radicalized and recruited Mazin Abdul Rahman while accused Syed Yasin radicalized and recruited Nadeem K A for furthering the terror activities of the Islamic State in India.
Moreover, as per the NIA statement for furthering the terror activities of the Islamic State in India, both were recruited.
“The accused persons recced and attempted or committed acts of sabotage and arson, as part of the larger conspiracy, to further the activities of Islamic State,” NIA said.
However, further investigation into the case is awaited.
