Forgiveness allows you to let go and move forward with a clean slate, without the weight of your past holding you back. It does not mean that you have to trust the person anymore nor let them back in your life. Forgiveness frees you from the chains of the past that the other person caused.

It is understandable to not consider forgiving someone who hurt you deeply. What happened is not your fault. However, you are the only one who can free yourself from the past.

You may also be triggered into feeling intense emotions. And old memories of what happened when hearing about someone else who experienced something similar. These are all signs that forgiveness is needed.

Forgiving and Healing when Your Heart is Hurting Deeply

If you are suffering deeply from someone hurting you, give yourself plenty of time to heal. View healing as a process that will take some time. Especially if the painful memories of what happened pierce your mind and bring up intense emotions. You might also have something that triggers you which leaves you upset for hours, days, or possibly longer.

Create a healing plan for yourself. Start by forgiving only so you can heal. Then, work with archangels to completely heal.

How to Start Healing from Trauma

Ask Archangels Michael and Uriel to help you heal from the trauma. Begin by closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths to relax. Then, think or say: “Archangel Michael and Archangel Uriel, please connect with me now.”

Wait a few seconds for them to connect with you.

Then, visualize all your hurt feelings and unpleasant thoughts. Place these hurt feelings into a box in front of you, then hand the box over to Archangels Michael and Uriel. Ask for these unwanted feelings and thoughts to be compressed. See the box smashing down into a flat box.

Next, visualize the flattened box burning inside the violet flame to transmute the energies. This reduces their power and helps you start to heal more. Thank the angels when you are done.

Repeat this process every time when you notice any undesirable thoughts or feelings arising.

Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. It is a natural part of being human.

What matters is that you learn from mistakes and practice forgiveness. Whether it is learning from your own mistakes, or becoming wiser by not repeating poor decisions that you have watched others make. Forgiveness is a powerful tool to add into your life. 

Forgive Yourself Too

When you make a mistake or a wrong decision, forgive yourself.

If another person was involved, ask the person to forgive you. Go into the conversation knowing that the other person might not forgive you. Try to find peace if that happens, and give the other person time to heal.

An Understanding Perspective can Help

When possible, and only after you have forgiven someone, try to see the situation from their perspective. Did the other person have a rough childhood? Is that person going through a difficult time?

Only do this after you have fully healed, and only if you want to try it. In my personal situation, it helped me to understand that the people who hurt me were never loved when they were growing up. They were also ignored and disrespected during childhood. Which caused severe damage and made it difficult for them to feel any love for themselves. 

Remember that people who are hurting on the inside, hurt other people.
