{"id":4347,"date":"2020-08-31T20:32:06","date_gmt":"2020-08-31T20:32:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gator4138.temp.domains\/~seocloud\/website_bd55b9c6\/?p=4347"},"modified":"2023-05-18T14:55:07","modified_gmt":"2023-05-18T14:55:07","slug":"empath-feeling-drained","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/subconsciousservant.com\/empath-feeling-drained\/","title":{"rendered":"Empath Fatigue &#8211; 7 Secrets To Stop Feeling Drained"},"content":{"rendered":"<style>img#mv-trellis-img-1::before{padding-top:56.25%; }img#mv-trellis-img-1{display:block;}img#mv-trellis-img-2::before{padding-top:56.25%; }img#mv-trellis-img-2{display:block;}img#mv-trellis-img-3::before{padding-top:56.25%; }img#mv-trellis-img-3{display:block;}img#mv-trellis-img-4::before{padding-top:56.25%; }img#mv-trellis-img-4{display:block;}img#mv-trellis-img-5::before{padding-top:56.25%; }img#mv-trellis-img-5{display:block;}<\/style>\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Only around 2% of the population are true empaths though many of us can attest to having empathic traits. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">While some of these traits, such as keen intuition, creativity, and problem-solving are great to have, being an empath is definitely a double-edged sword. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">One of the biggest problems that empaths face is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">empath fatigue<\/span>.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Empath fatigue or burnout can be due to a short-term stressful situation,<\/span> but most often,<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> it happens over time as a steady drain of your energy reserves. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Empath fatigue can have huge ramifications on your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing and is something that all empathic individuals need to learn to spot and prevent.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">An Empaths True Experience&hellip;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">This article was inspired by an email I received recently from a fellow empath. Instead, full-blown empaths are &lsquo;tuned-in&rsquo; to the emotional needs of others 24\/7. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Like a machine working day in and day out, without the correct care,<\/span> cracks are going to show,<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> and parts will break down. This is why it&rsquo;s so important for empaths to manage their energy levels carefully.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Instead of empathy and compassion, you experience irritability or numbness<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">You feel emotionally or mentally exhausted<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">You struggle to fall asleep and don&rsquo;t feel rested when you wake<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">You experience hypersensitivity towards emotional scenes in movies, TV, and books<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">You struggle to show intimacy with your partner<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">You&rsquo;ve become more withdrawn or keep seeking to isolate yourself<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">You&rsquo;re experiencing intrusive thoughts or brain fog<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">You dread your place of work or hanging out with your friend group<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">You&rsquo;re using unhealthy coping mechanisms i.e. over\/under eating, smoking, drinking<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Your skin is in poor condition, you may break out or notice a change in skin texture or complexion<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Answering yes to multiple points on this list likely indicates that you&rsquo;re struggling with some degree of empath fatigue.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" exhaustion, aches and pains, anxiety, brain fog, and insomnia. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This happens when the adrenal glands cannot keep up with external stresses leaving your body depleted of hormones like cortisol which makes us feel energized. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">If you&rsquo;re feeling this way or are concerned about your energy levels, then it&rsquo;s definitely worth speaking to your doctor or class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Here&rsquo;s a list of techniques to try which may help you restore your energy levels and stop feeling Know Yourself!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">This may seem like an obvious or counter-intuitive point, but a lot of failed attempts or frustration can be prevented simply by understanding who we are. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">For example, the majority of <\/span><a data-lasso-id=\"13505\" href=\"https:\/\/subconsciousservant.com\/introvert-empath\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"25793\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">empaths are introverts<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">, but this is not always the case. So, if you&rsquo;re an extroverted empath, you may read advice to have some &lsquo;alone time,&rsquo; which is a perfect remedy for many introverts. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Extroverts, however, expend energy when alone and gain energy when around others, so if you&rsquo;re an extroverted empath, you&rsquo;ll find heeding this advice leaves you feeling worse!&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Put simply, use some of your empath intuition when responding to advice on fatigue-prevention. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">While some advice does require an open mind or a leap of faith, if, for example, you&rsquo;ve tried meditation in the past and found it actually stressed you out or left you restless, then there&rsquo;s no point continually trying in the hopes it will magically work for you one day. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">It&rsquo;s all about the balance between trying something new and understanding your unique quirks!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Be_Aware_and_Acknowledge\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; color: #e5be5b;\"><strong>2. As empaths, we must recognize that our gifts are not limitless, and we need to take time to recharge them if we want to be truly helpful to those that we love and care for.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">When it comes to what self-care is, you may find yourself picturing face masks and Lush bath bombs but this isn&rsquo;t always the case! <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Self-care is whatever is indulgent to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">YOU<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">This could be taking the time to finish that book you&rsquo;ve been wanting to read, going for a walk in the countryside, watching trash TV, or the aforementioned bath bombs, or a combination of everything. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Whatever you choose, the most important thing about self-care is doing something for yourself and only for yourself.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Good_Things_in_Good_Things_Out\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; color: #e5be5b;\"><strong>4.
