There are so many amazing oracle card decks out there right now, and these cards can be a brilliant addition to your spiritual practice. They can guide us in life, love, and wellbeing and allow us to connect with our emotional and spiritual side.
I love my oracle cards just as much as I love my Tarot cards, so I wanted to write an article all about oracle card decks, what they are, and show you my favorite oracle card decks that are available to buy from Amazon today.
It is time to prepare for 2023, so what better way to do so than by beginning your oracle card journey!
What Are Oracle Card Decks#
Oracle card decks are closely related to Tarot cards, but they don’t follow as many rules. Although there are so many different Tarot card decks with wonderful interpretations and imagery, most decks will contain 78 cards with the cards having specific messages.
Oracle cards differ because every deck is completely unique, with its own meanings and messages. There is no traditional amount of cards, traditional suits, or traditional imagery. The structure, meanings, and interpretations of the cards are entirely up to the creator of the deck.
This means that you don’t need to memorize what the different cards mean and you can go into oracle card reading with no prior knowledge of oracle card decks.
What Are Oracle Cards Used For#
Oracle cards are used in a similar way to Tarot cards. They provide guidance and understanding of yourself and the universe around you. You can ask a specific question to the cards, or ask for general life advice. Most oracle card decks will come with a guidebook, but most of the time the message is pretty obvious!
I like to pick an oracle card out of a deck each morning to give me meaning and guidance for the day ahead. Sometimes I will ask a question in regards to a situation I have to face for that day, but mostly I will simply ask the cards for encouragement and knowledge.

How To Use Oracle Card decks#
If you have found your perfect oracle card deck, you can now begin to use them! There are so many different ways to use your oracle cards, so take time to figure out what way works for you.
A lot of oracle card decks come with a guidebook that gives you advice for using the card. However, there are some general tips I can give you to help you understand how you might want to read the oracle card decks.
Cleanse The Cards and Your Space#
Before you get going with your oracle card reading, you should cleanse the space around you and the oracle cards. This may be burning sage, lighting incense, or simply blowing on the cards. You can also use crystals to cleanse both the cards and the space around you.
If you can, open up the windows in your home. This allows the energy from nature to enter your practice. Always read your oracle cards in a decluttered, simple space. This allows you to immerse yourself in the reading with no distractions.
Meditate and Connect With Your Oracle Cards#
Before you begin your reading, it is important to connect your energy with the energy of the oracle cards. Spend time with the deck, meditating on your personal power and wisdom. Appeal to the power of nature and the elements, bringing forth fresh ideas and energy.
Spend time inhaling, exhaling, and freeing your mind of unhelpful thoughts.
USing Oracle Card Decks#
Because there are so many different oracle card decks, different ones may serve different purposes. Here are some great ways of involving oracle card decks in your spiritual practices.
- A lot of the oracle card decks listed above are great for daily affirmations. Every morning, pick a card out of the deck and listen to what it is trying to tell you. Meditate on the message throughout the day.
- You can also ask the oracle cards specific questions. Simply ask your quesion either outloud or in your head whilst shuffling the oracle cards. Then, pick out a card. This will help you understand what you are needing to do.
- There are different spreads for oracle card decks that are really rewarding. Simple three card Tarot spreads can work in an oracle card reading, for example, the past present and future Tarot card spread. A lot of oracle card decks will come with a guidebook with suitable spreads in.
Interpreting Oracle Cards#
Most oracle card decks are pretty intuitive and easy to interpret. A lot will have their message written on the card and/or explain it in-depth in the guidebook. However, interpreting the card is all down to listening to your gut and what you feel the message is.
When asking a specific question, interpreting the oracle cards might take time. Let yourself tap into your unconsciousness and gain messages from the universe. Listen to what your heart is telling you!
It is time to begin your oracle card journey!#
I really hope this article has helped you understand oracle card decks and what they are used for. I absolutely love oracle cards as they provide me with great insight into my life and the world around me.
The oracle card decks listed above are all great decks to begin your oracle card journey, and I really hope you will find your favorite amongst these decks!

What Is The Crystal Wisdom Healing Oracle Deck?#
The Crystal Healing Oracle deck is a deck of 50 cards. Each card has an image of a specific crystal with its name on the bottom of the card.
There is a huge range of crystals that are included in the deck. The more popular crystals like Amethyst, Citrine, and Lapis Lazuli all appear in the deck, but I love how Judy Hall has incorporated some really obscure and exotic crystals.
You might have never even heard of crystals like Azeztulite and Ajoite, but as they appear in the deck you are able to learn about these stones and how they can help you.
This oracle deck is really useful for people who have just begun their journey into crystal healing and for people who need some guidance.
However, this deck is super useful for those of us who know loads about crystal healing and what the different stones do, too.
This deck can shed fresh light on how we can use crystals to help and heal our lives and can guide us to which stone to use and when.
The cards included in the deck are infused with the power of each crystal, so the deck has amazing energy!
What Is the Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck?#
The Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck aims to use Tarot and intuition in order for you to develop your psychic abilities. Using this deck will allow you to open up to hidden, ancient wisdom and grow spiritually.
So, how is the Psychic Tarot Oracle deck different from the classical Tarot? Firstly, a lot of cards are renamed. Also, there are no court cards. Instead, John Holland has added in Chakra cards.
The deck, like Tarot, is divided into major and minor arcana with the addition of Chakra cards.
However, instead of traditional suits of Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles, the minor arcana has its own color-coded system.
Red is used to represent the physical, green is used for emotions, indigo for mental and violet represents spirit.
If you are used to reading Tarot cards, the Psychic Tarot Oracle deck is a really intuitive deck to transition to oracle cards with. The cards and their meanings are still pretty similar to traditional Tarot decks, with new additions.
What Is the Secret Language of Color Cards?#
The Secret Language of Color Cards is an oracle deck that focuses on color. We can use it for general guidance and ask the cards questions in order to get answers. We can also, however, use it for color healing.
Color is extremely spiritual and very important in chakra healing and crystal healing. Because of this, it is no wonder that this amazing oracle deck was created.
Each color has its own frequency that can be utilized in healing and we can use The Secret Language of Color cards to heal and balance ourselves.
For example, you can put a card on the area of your body that needs healing, or you can put it on top of a specific chakra that needs to be balanced.
The Secret Language of Color Oracle Deck Review#
The Secret Language of Color cards come in a sturdy box with a lid, making it easy to store your cards in. It is a colorful box, with a bold rainbow on the front. This matches the energy of the deck and you really feel the power of colors when holding the box in your hands!
The Guidebook#
Like the majority of oracle decks out there, the Secret Language of Color cards come with a guidebook. The guidebook is a really useful tool that helps us understand what the oracle deck is all about.
It has 85 pages and it goes into detail about the different cards and the messages that they send. It also talks about how you can work with the cards.
The book’s glossy cover is in full color, while the pages are plain black and white. I don’t think this matters too much as, because the cards are numbered, we can find the specific card we are wanting to find out about easily enough.
The Cards#
Onto the cards! The energy of the colorful box they are contained in is magnified within the cards, with each card containing a powerful vibration.
I really like the imagery that Inna Segal has chosen for each color, and I really think that there has been a lot of thought gone into the creation of this deck.
I love the design layout of these cards. There is a bright image representing each color, the color’s name at the bottom, and a short message under it.
Because of the short message, you are able to read the deck pretty intuitively. You can also find out more about each card in the guidebook. The borderless design of these cards makes the images really pop!
The back of the cards has an abstract picture of red-yellow-green hues which is really beautiful.
Aside from all colors of the rainbow, there are a whole lot of other colors named after fruits, gemstones, flowers, metals, and other earthly objects. I really like this aspect of the deck, as we remember that color, life, and beauty are all around us!
When it comes to the deck’s quality, the first thing I noticed when I took the cards out of the box is the…smell. Strangely enough, it smells good! Seriously, I don’t know what kind of ink they used in the printing, but it smells quite pleasant.
The cards are big and have a glossy finish. They are non-gilded, which I think is a good choice with this deck as the cards are quite thin and flimsy. This is the main issue I have with this deck, to be honest. I love the idea and the energy of them, but when it comes to using them, I feel their quality is really lacking.
I know that it is a fairly cheap deck, which is fair enough. However, I do sometimes struggle with shuffling them and I do worry I might damage them. This puts me off using them regularly. They just don’t feel like a sturdy set of cards.
The Soul’s Journey Lesson Cards Review#
Okay, now on to the review! I was quite excited about this deck at first because I really like the colors and patterns. When I got my hands on the deck, I was pretty happy about the quality of the box that the cards are contained in. As I have loads of decks, I often will store them in their box.
The box itself is simple. It is bright blue in color with a mandala pattern on it. This simplicity follows through the deck, and I know that some people are not a fan of it. I understand this because there are so many Tarot and oracle decks that are just utterly stunning. There is a lot of competition out there, and something this simple might not stand out.
The Guidebook#
The Soul’s Journey Lesson Cards come with a small guidebook that is printed in black and white. It fits in the box and contains information about the spiritual lessons each card represents, accompanied by a short affirmation.
The guidebook really isn’t that impressive and I feel that it falls short. Again, when you compare this oracle deck to others out there, it does feel as if something is missing. The guidebook is fine, but that is just it. Fine.
However, the affirmations in the guidebook are pretty nice to read and do help you feel guided in life.
The Cards#
The card stock quality is on par with other decks published by Hay House. The cards are quite thick and have a glossy finish with gilded edges. They are wide and of medium size, so quite nice to shuffle and use in spreads.
Cards in a brand new deck may get stuck together, but after separating them manually, shuffling becomes easier.
I do like the pattern on the back of the cards and the colors and mandala patterns on each card. It does feel as if the imagery reflects the meaning of each specific card and most are pretty nice to look at.
The messages on the cards are clear, thus meaning this oracle deck is easy to use. Each card has the main word on it and a message of affirmation. It might be a good deck for those of us who like to pick a card out of a deck each morning to give us guidance for the day ahead.
I must point out that some cards have messages such as Death, Envy, Loneliness, and Worry. I can see some readers finding this negative and unsettling, even though the actual messages of the cards teach us how to accept these concepts as part of our existence in a world of duality.
To be honest, the Soul’s Journey Lesson Cards do fall a bit short for me. I understand what they are about, and I like the idea of using what happens in our lives to guide us and teach us lessons. However, I think the energy of this deck just had something missing. It definitely could be deeper, with a more interesting guidebook and explanations of each card.
Plus, the images and colors on the deck aren’t that great. Yes, they are nice, but the patterns and imagery could have been explored so much more!
What is the Spirit Messages Daily Guidance Oracle Deck?#
This oracle deck really does what it says on the tin. It is an oracle deck all about giving us daily guidance! It is created to be used by anyone at any specific time and will help us understand the world around us.
You may have heard of John Holland, the creator of the Spirit Messages Daily Guidance Oracle Deck. He is pretty famous and he has created quite a few oracle decks. Perhaps you saw my recent review of his deck called the Psychic Tarot Oracle?
The Spirit Messages Daily Guidance Oracle deck has a similar vibe but is much less linked to Tarot. Even though I love Tarot, I actually prefer this deck to his Psychic Tarot one. It contains some really interesting ideas, and the guidance can really help us when we are struggling.
