Meaning and Explanation

There are multiple components to this phrase:

1. Subhanallahi (سُبْحَانَ اللهِ): This part means “Glory be to Allah” or “Exalted is Allah
2. Wal hamdu lillahi (وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ): This means “And praise be to Allah.” 
3. Wa la ilaha illallahu (وَلَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ): This part means “And there is no god but Allah.” 
4. Wallahu akbar (وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ): This means “And Allah is the Greatest.” 

Summary

The 3rd Kalma is a broad statement of glory, gratitude, confirmation of Allah’s unity, and recognition of his magnificence: a concept highlighted beautifully in Surah Fatiha.
