Trust Queen Zendaya to steal the spotlight at every red-carpet event. During the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday night, she dazzled in an archival Bob Mackie Couture piece from the Fall 2001 ‘Foreign Intrigue’ collection. Zendaya graced the red carpet at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, wearing a nude illusion halter gown that paid tribute to Cher, whom she had the honor of inducting into the Hall of Fame.
Bob Mackie’s official Instagram described the gown as a “white silk satin trench coat with a dramatic collar and cuffs, embroidered in gold and diamond iridescent bugle beads and stones.” It is “entirely hand-beaded in gold, diamond, and iridescent bugle beads and aurora borealis stones.”
The stunning gown featured a twisted halterneck and an open bodice, with golden straps crisscrossing her abdomen, leading to a low-rise skirt that showcased her hip muscles.

This archival piece resembled a gown Cher wore in 1972, also designed by Mackie, who has been Cher’s muse since 1967 when he dressed her for an appearance on the ‘Carol Burnett Show’.
Styled by Law Roach, Zendaya completed her look with Christian Louboutin’s So Kate pumps and the trendy autumn accessory of stacked bangles. She wore her hair straight with a middle part, a signature style reminiscent of Cher. Roach has a history of dressing Zendaya in eye-catching vintage looks; for example, during the ‘Dune’ press tour, she sported a 1995 Couture Mugler ensemble featuring a cyborg suit with silver metallic paneling and clear plexiglass.
