Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the alliance between the Samajwadi Party and Congress on Friday, likening them to an irresponsible tractor driver.

At the Sambhal election rally, Yogi Adityanath stated that the Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance resembles a scenario where someone inexperienced in driving ends up causing harm with a tractor. He referred to them as ‘2 ladkon ki jodi yahi hai.’

Yogi asserted that individuals associated with the Samajwadi Party, who are now wielding training guns, have previously targeted saints, honored mafias, and hindered efforts to safeguard women and businessmen in the state.

Yogi Adityanath criticized the Congress party for repeatedly raising the issue of surveying India’s caste system, suggesting that they aim to create divisions among different communities with the ultimate objective of extending reservations to Muslims.

“Reservations based on religion were the reason behind the partition of this country. Do Congress and the Samajwadi Party want the partition of the country? They say they’ll do a caste census, for what? They will divide people based on caste and induce a fight amongst them and then they’ll say to the people that first you need to resolve this issue, and by that time they will give your reservations to Muslims.” Yogi stated.

The Indian National Congress, in its agenda for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, pledged to conduct a national census to assess various castes, sub-castes, and their socioeconomic status. Additionally, they proposed amending the Constitution to eliminate the 50% cap on reservations for marginalized communities, including scheduled tribes, scheduled castes, and other disadvantaged social groups.

Yogi Adityanath proceeded to censure the opposition coalition, stating, “Neither can they provide you security, nor can provide respect to the country, neither can they benefit the poor, nor do they respect your faith, then why would you even elect them?”

As the third phase of the ongoing general elections approaches, Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for another round of voting scheduled for May 7. This phase will witness voting for ten Lok Sabha seats, including Etah, Badaun, Bareilly, Aonla, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Sambhal, Hathras, Agra, and Fatehpur Sikri.
