Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is putting in significant efforts to secure victories in the upcoming by-elections for 9 seats in his state. At the same time, he is playing a key role in elections in other states, further strengthening his influence within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While the BJP’s overall election strategy is driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and National President JP Nadda, Yogi Adityanath’s focus on the Hindutva agenda is giving the party a distinct edge.
Yogi’s political reach is extending beyond Uttar Pradesh, as he is also actively engaged in campaigning for the BJP-led alliance in Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Haryana. His involvement in these states, particularly if the alliance wins in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, will underscore his growing role in shaping the party’s fortunes beyond his home state. Observers note that while Modi, Shah, and Nadda continue to guide the party’s broad strategy, Yogi has brought a sharper focus to the Hindutva narrative, which has been a hallmark of his political leadership. His influence in the party’s election campaigns is increasingly seen as a key factor in galvanizing BJP supporters, particularly in regions where the party is seeking to consolidate its Hindu voter base. As the party looks to make inroads in critical states, Yogi Adityanath’s leadership is expected to play a crucial role in securing BJP’s electoral success, both in Uttar Pradesh and across the country. With his strong political presence and emphasis on Hindutva, Yogi’s position in the party is only expected to grow stronger in the coming months. The opponents had started hoping for his replacement. At that time, the Sangh stood with Yogi along with Prime Minister Modi and the entire party. After this, Yogi slowly started taking decisions by incorporating his old attitude in his working style. It was Yogi who made himself the topic of discussion in the whole country by making it mandatory to write the name of the owner outside the shops. Yogi had not done anything wrong as per the rules. The law of writing the name was made during the rule of Congress.
But the India Alliance caused harm to itself by giving it a hype. Yogi had given instructions after careful consideration, so that the divisive politics of the opposition could be dealt a blow. Yogi was also successful in that. This was a kind of answer to dividing Hindus in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP understood that Congress wants to take Hindus back to the 90s by doing caste politics. At a time when caste-based politics was creating divisions among Hindus and regional parties were fueling instability, Yogi Adityanath delivered a powerful blow to the opposition with his “Bantoge to katoge” (divide and you will be cut) slogan.

This message, first introduced in August, referenced the Bangladesh civil war and sent a clear signal about the dangers of division. Initially, the opposition failed to grasp the full impact of Yogi’s words, but as the slogan spread, it quickly turned into a nationwide rallying cry.
While Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav has dismissed the slogan as a BJP and RSS ploy, the BJP has reaped the rewards. Yogi’s influence has extended far beyond Uttar Pradesh, with his significant role in Haryana, followed by a high-energy campaign across Maharashtra. In the past two days alone, Yogi has addressed over six rallies, dramatically shifting the political atmosphere. He has also made his mark in Jharkhand, where his presence has boosted the BJP’s campaign efforts.
Now he is continuously busy creating election atmosphere by doing rallies in Maharashtra. In the last two days, Yogi changed the atmosphere by doing more than 6 rallies. He has done his work in Jharkhand. Yogi’s slogan got full support of Sangh and BJP. PM Modi also endorsed it by saying in a different way that if you stay united, you will stay safe. The reports coming from Maharashtra show that if you are divided, you will be cut off and the election has been polarized. This slogan seems to be working for BJP because the talks of Congress’s supreme leader Rahul Gandhi about the constitution being in danger and increasing the limit of reservation seem to be proving weak. It has become clear that Congress took the help of the constitution to create confusion in the Lok Sabha. Even now Rahul is following the same path. Meaning he is doing caste politics. In such a situation, Yogi’s slogan seems to be working like a Brahmastra. After Modi, Yogi Adityanath is emerging as a key face of the BJP, with his popularity extending far beyond Uttar Pradesh to other states as well. He has become a prominent symbol of Hindutva, and the opposition currently lacks a strong counter to his growing influence.
