Indian comedian Zakir Khan made history in New York City by becoming the first to perform a Hindi comedy show at the legendary Madison Square Garden (MSG). The performance was part of his North America tour. He shared the stage with fellow comedian Tanmay Bhat.
Before the big night, Zakir’s posters lit up the massive billboards in Times Square. He also appeared on US media outlets like Fox 5 New York. In another highlight, he joined celebrity chef Vikas Khanna for a fun cooking session.
Zakir Khan on His Journey
Speaking about the achievement, Zakir Khan said, “Madison Square Garden was never part of the plan – it always seemed like a place for movie scenes and big stars, not for city boys like me. But sometimes, life takes you beyond your dreams.”
He added, “This show is not about any big achievement – it’s just a reminder that if you stay true to your journey, even the quietest voice can make it to the loudest stage. The opportunity to represent India on such a global platform and bring my vision of comedy to this part of the world is both gratifying and a huge burden, a dream I’m dying to live.”
Stops on His North America Tour
As part of his ongoing tour, Zakir will perform in several U.S. cities, including Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, Lauderhill, and Phoenix. His tour also extends to Canada, with shows in Toronto and Montreal.

Zakir Khan is well-known for his straightforward and approachable humor. He frequently portrays himself as a “Sakht Launda,” a person who is approachable despite acting tough. He starred in the web series Chacha Vishayak Hain Hamare and had a popular show on Amazon Prime called Comicstaan.
He has performed on major stages worldwide. In 2023, he became the first Asian comedian to perform a solo show at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London.

In addition to performing live, Zakir Khan has established a significant internet following. He is the host of “Umeed,” one of the most-streamed podcasts in India. Haq se Single and his most recent, Delulu Express, are among the five comedy specials he has made available on Amazon Prime Video.
