US President Donald Trump’s visit to a 9/11 memorial has revived health concerns around him after videos and images revealed a visible ‘droop’ on one side of his face. He visited the event with former First Lady Melania Trump.
Social media users immediately surmised that the asymmetrical face could be a sign of a stroke. The American Stroke Association describes, “When a stroke occurs, blood flow to various areas of the brain can be blocked. If blood supply to the left side of the brain is cut off, the right side of the individual’s face may droop or contort,” and the reverse.

One viewer asked, “I know we’re all busy with the other thing. But did Trump have a stroke? Cuz that looks a LOT like stroke related facial droop to me. (This is from this morning’s 9/11 memorial).”
Another commented, “Trump at the 9/11 Pentagon memorial ceremony. What is wrong with his face? Definitely has pronounced drooping on the right side of face & mouth, typical of medical condition.”

This latest controversy comes after previous gossip regarding a bruise on Trump’s hand and a blue pill photo of him going viral at the U.S. Open. His doctor, Sean Barbabella, spoke to the bruise, stating, “This is consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from repetitive handshaking and use of aspirin, taken as part of a usual cardiovascular prevention regimen.” He assured the public that Trump is in ‘excellent cognitive and physical health’.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reiterated this assurance, telling the Independent, “President Trump is a man of the people, and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history. His commitment is unwavering, and he proves that every single day.” Leavitt also said that Trump recently had a ‘comprehensive exam’ that involved vascular testing, which showed a chronic vein problem.
In spite of the internet rumors, neither Trump nor the White House has officially confirmed any stroke or serious medical problem.
