The shocking killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has taken a new turn. Authorities revealed that Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused shooter, was living with a transgender partner, Lance Twiggs. Twiggs is now at the centre of attention after helping the FBI with key evidence.
Who is Lance Twiggs?
Lance Twiggs, also 22, is an aspiring gamer from southern Utah. Public records show that Twiggs lived with Robinson in the same house. Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed that Robinson and Twiggs were in a relationship.

Twiggs grew up in a conservative Christian family. A family member told the New York Post, “Yes, they were roommates.” The same person called Twiggs the “black sheep” of the family, but did not confirm if there was a romance.

According to a Facebook page, Twiggs studied at Utah Tech University. Robinson was training to be an electrician. Both shared a love for gaming and often posted videos of games like Apex Legends, Valorant, and Rocket League on TikTok.
Friends said the two were part of a larger online gaming group on Discord, linked to Robinson’s former high school.
Lance Twiggs: Helped Investigators
Lance Twiggs played a major role in Robinson’s arrest. Twiggs gave the FBI text messages where Robinson talked about hiding the gun used to kill Kirk. Law enforcement sources told Axios that Twiggs was “aghast” after learning what Robinson had done.
Officials also said Twiggs is being “extremely cooperative” with the investigation.
Why Did Robinson Kill Kirk?
Investigators have not confirmed a motive, but early signs point to politics. Governor Cox said a family member told police that Robinson had spoken about Kirk’s event at Utah Valley University.
“They talked about why they didn’t like him and the viewpoints he had,” Cox said. Authorities also found bullet casings with anti-fascist slogans carved into them. Officials are calling the incident a “political assassination.”
The Arrest & Aftermath
Police arrested Robinson on Thursday after a 33-hour manhunt. He was found in Utah County and is now in jail. His first court hearing is expected next week.
Two other people were taken into custody during the search but later released.
