Jasveen Sangha, known as the “Ketamine Queen,” has agreed to plead guilty in the drug case linked to Friends actor Matthew Perry’s death. The US Department of Justice confirmed the development on Monday.

The 42-year-old faces five charges in Los Angeles, including the distribution of ketamine resulting in death. She is the fifth and final defendant charged in the high-profile case. Others accused are Dr. Salvador Plasencia, Dr. Mark Chavez, Kenneth Iwamasa, and Eric Fleming.

How Sangha Supplied Ketamine to Perry

According to federal prosecutors, Sangha sold Matthew Perry 25 vials of ketamine for $6,000, just four days before his death on October 28, 2023.

Her Los Angeles home was described by investigators as a “drug-selling emporium.” Authorities seized 80 ketamine vials and thousands of pills, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and Xanax, from her residence.

Reports revealed she allegedly supplied drugs to several Hollywood celebrities from her North Hollywood property.

Who Is Jasveen Sangha?

Sangha holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and the U.K. She studied at Calabasas High and later earned a degree in social sciences from the University of California, Irvine. In 2010, she completed her MBA from Hult Business School and worked briefly at Merrill Lynch.

Sangha has a corporate background, but she used her alleged underground narcotics network to finance her extravagant lifestyle, which included expensive trips and beauty procedures.

Previous Overdose Linked to Sangha

Matthew Perry was not the first high-profile case connected to Sangha. In 2019, one of her clients, Cody McLaury, died from a ketamine overdose after purchasing drugs from her. Authorities later found that Sangha searched online: “Can ketamine be listed as a cause of death?” after learning about his passing.

Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing in Friends, was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home’s hot tub. The medical examiner ruled that a ketamine overdose was the primary cause of death.

Hollywood and the actor’s worldwide fan base were shocked by his death, which prompted a criminal probe right away.

What’s Next for Sangha?

Sangha has been in federal custody since August 2024. She is expected to formally enter her plea in the coming weeks in a Los Angeles court.

The charges carry a maximum sentence of 65 years in prison. However, prosecutors said the time could be reduced if she accepts responsibility.

Her lawyer, Mark Geragos, said, “My client is accepting her responsibilities.”
