The now-infamous moment occurred at Gillette Stadium in Boston, where Byron, who is married, was seen hugging Cabot closely. The two appeared on the venue’s jumbotron while frontman Chris Martin introduced the fan-favorite “kiss cam” segment. The pair quickly pulled apart and tried to hide their faces, sparking intense speculation.
Chris Martin, unaware of the brewing scandal, initially saw it as a sweet scene. Onstage, he said, “Look at these two.” But the couple’s awkward reaction made things awkward. “Oh, what? Some of Byron’s former colleagues weren’t surprised by the controversy. One anonymous source told The New York Post that former employees were pleased to see Byron exposed.
“The text groups and chains of former employees are like… everybody’s laughing their a off and enjoying the hell out of what happened,”** the source said. They also described Byron as a tough, sales-driven boss who could be “toxic” at times.
What started as a concert gimmick has turned into a public scandal for Astronomer’s top executives. While neither Byron nor Cabot has made a public statement, the internet has already formed its opinion.
