A video capturing a personal moment between Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, during a Coldplay concert has gone viral  and it’s causing quite a stir online.

The now-infamous moment occurred at Gillette Stadium in Boston, where Byron, who is married, was seen hugging Cabot closely. The two appeared on the venue’s jumbotron while frontman Chris Martin introduced the fan-favorite “kiss cam” segment. The pair quickly pulled apart and tried to hide their faces, sparking intense speculation.

Chris Martin, unaware of the brewing scandal, initially saw it as a sweet scene. Onstage, he said, “Look at these two.” But the couple’s awkward reaction made things awkward. “Oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” he added. His comments were caught on video and widely shared.

Soon, fans online identified Byron as a married man. His wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, quickly became part of the conversation.

Social media users described the event as “the internet’s biggest scandal.” As more people viewed the clip, accusations of infidelity started circulating. The incident exploded across platforms like X and Instagram.

Who is Andy Byron?

Andy Byron became CEO of Astronomer in July 2023. The company, worth over $1.3 billion, creates data orchestration tools for banks and media companies. Since his appointment, Astronomer has grown fast. In FY2025, the company achieved 100% year-on-year growth in annual recurring revenue, over 130% net dollar retention, and logged 2.6 billion successful task runs on its Astro platform.

Byron previously held key roles in the tech industry. He was President of Lacework between 2019 and 2022 and had earlier served as Chief Revenue Officer at Cybereason. He also worked at Vericenter and BMC Software.

He graduated from Providence College and lives in New York with his wife and two children.

What happened at the Coldplay concert?

During the concert, Byron and Cabot shared a brief hug, which was broadcast live to thousands of fans. The moment turned awkward when they realised they were being shown on the big screen. Cabot hid her face, and Byron ducked to avoid the camera.

As the video went viral, online users pointed out that Byron was married. His wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, was soon found on Facebook. One user wrote, “Andy Byron’s wife has now dropped her married name on Facebook and left comments open on her Facebook!”

By Thursday, Megan had deleted her Facebook and Instagram pages. But before that, screenshots showed she had removed “Byron” from her name, adding fuel to the divorce rumors.

Who is Megan Kerrigan Byron?

Megan works as an educator at Bancroft School. She holds the position of Associate Director of Lower School & The Hope Graham Program Admission. This program supports students with language-based learning difficulties.

Megan usually keeps a low profile. But after the Coldplay video went viral, her social media accounts were flooded with supportive messages. Many noticed that she had removed her husband’s surname, suggesting personal trouble at home.

One X user cheered her on, saying, “What a class act! Go Megan. Get that divorce lawyer and get the money.”

Who is Kristin Cabot?

Kristin Cabot joined Astronomer as Chief People Officer in November 2024. In a January 2025 interview, she said, “Magic happens when you align the people strategy to the business strategy and sync the two.”

Before Astronomer, she worked at ObserveIT, Neo4j, and Proofpoint. She also claimed in her LinkedIn bio that she is an “influential leader” who “wins trust with employees of all levels, from CEOs to managers to assistants.”

Court records show that she divorced her former husband, Kenneth Thornby, in 2022 after filing in 2018. The couple shares at least one child. Thornby was ordered to make a lump-sum child support payment, according to The New York Post.

“He got what he deserved”

Some of Byron’s former colleagues weren’t surprised by the controversy. One anonymous source told The New York Post that former employees were pleased to see Byron exposed.

“The text groups and chains of former employees are like… everybody’s laughing their a off and enjoying the hell out of what happened,”** the source said. They also described Byron as a tough, sales-driven boss who could be “toxic” at times.

What started as a concert gimmick has turned into a public scandal for Astronomer’s top executives. While neither Byron nor Cabot has made a public statement, the internet has already formed its opinion.

As one Instagram user wrote, “Cost of a concert: Hotel $200, tickets $600, food/drinks $150, divorce attorney $50,000. Getting exposed by Coldplay having an affair with your co-worker: priceless.”
