White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has announced she is expecting her second child. She shared the news during the holiday season and called it a moment of deep gratitude.

Leavitt, 28, revealed the pregnancy through a social media post. The images showed her standing in front of a decorated Christmas tree while showing her baby bump. The announcement quickly drew attention across political and public circles.

Baby Girl Due in May 2026

Leavitt confirmed that she and her husband are expecting a baby girl. She wrote, “The greatest Christmas gift we could ever ask for – a baby girl coming in May 2026.

My husband and I are thrilled to grow our family and can’t wait to watch our son become a big brother.

My heart is overflowing with gratitude to God for the blessing of motherhood, which I truly believe is the closest thing to Heaven on Earth.

“I am also extremely grateful to President Trump and our Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support and for fostering a pro-family environment in the White House. 2026 is going to be a great year, and I am so excited to be a girl mom!”

She also shared photos of her husband, Nicholas Riccio, and their one-year-old son, Niko. In one image, the toddler held a teddy bear wearing a shirt that read “I’m the big brother.”

Balancing Motherhood and the White House

Leavitt made history with this announcement. She is the first pregnant press secretary in US history.

She confirmed she plans to continue working after the birth of her daughter. The baby is expected in May, and Leavitt has said she does not plan to step away from her role.

During her first pregnancy, Leavitt returned to work just four days after giving birth. That decision came during a tense period following an assassination attempt on President Trump.

Speaking about her work environment, she said, “Nearly all of my West Wing colleagues have babies and young children, so we all really support one another as we tackle raising our families while working for the greatest president ever.”

Who Is Karoline Leavitt’s Husband?

Leavitt married Nicholas Riccio earlier this year. Riccio is a real estate developer based in New Hampshire. The couple got engaged on Christmas Day in 2023 and held a private wedding ceremony in the spring.

Riccio built his business from the ground up. He once lived out of his car before finding success renovating homes in Hampton Beach.

Leavitt has spoken openly about their age difference. Riccio is 60 years old. She previously said the gap felt awkward at first for her family, but that it is no longer an issue.

She said, “It’s a typical family relationship, and my husband has such respect for my parents and the way that they raised me. We all have a lot of fun together when they come to visit.”

A Growing Family in the Public Eye

Since joining President Trump’s campaign, Leavitt has married and become a mother. Now, she is preparing to welcome her second child while continuing one of the most demanding jobs in Washington.

Her announcement has sparked discussion about working mothers in politics and the changing culture inside the White House.
