The Trump administration has brought in a fresh policy for residency in the US with their Gold Card visa initiative, which would be exclusively for foreign professionals with high net worth. This visa initiative would cater to those individuals who are prepared to invest a substantial amount of funds in the US.
Alongside this visa, a Platinum Card visa initiative is in development, which would provide further benefits to foreign nationals who fall in the ultra-rich category. This comes after an increase in H-1B visa application fees.
This will be a new, higher-level residency visa that costs $5 million. With this visa, applicants are able to stay in the U.S. for as many as 270 days per year without paying taxes on foreign income. This card has not yet been available, but a waiting list for applicants to register their interest in it as soon as it becomes available can be accessed from the site.
The Platinum Card has a $5 million minimum contribution, as well as a $15,000 processing fee. “There is no assurance that the Platinum Card contribution will remain at $5 million, so you should join the wait list now,” as indicated in their website.
The Platinum Card provides extended residency, tax exemption for foreign income sources, and visa-free travel. Unlike The Gold Card, which provides benefits for citizenship, The Platinum Card aims to provide the highest benefits for extremely wealthy foreign nationals in terms of flexibility, staying periods and monetary benefits.
