According to two experts, US President Donald Trump is showing outward signs of a serious brain ailment. They argue that his motor functions and speech patterns suggest possible dementia, raising fresh questions about his health as he continues his political campaign.

Clinical psychologists Dr. Harry Segal and Dr. John Gartner voiced their concerns in their program Shrinking Trump. They highlighted that Trump’s motor skills appear to be deteriorating, which they say often happens in dementia.

Experts Link Trump’s Health to Dementia Symptoms

Dr. Gartner said, “Some of the more evidence that we've been talking about recently has been his psychomotor performance, that we're seeing a deterioration in his motor performance, which also goes with dementia because with dementia there's a deterioration of all faculties, all functions.”

The experts pointed out that Trump has been trying to hide the back of his hand in public, sparking speculation about his health. They also noted that his language, speech patterns, and now motor abilities show worrying signs.

Signs of Frontotemporal Dementia?

Dr. Gartner believes Trump may be suffering from frontotemporal dementia, a rare type of brain disorder. He called one of Trump’s physical traits a “dead ringer telltale sign.”

“One of the things that one of the neuropsychologists that we were working with last year pointed out is that almost a dead ringer telltale sign of frontotemporal dementia is something they call a wide-based gait, where you have a sort of one of your limbs, one of your legs, you kind of swing it in a semicircle,” he explained.

This condition affects behaviour, decision-making, and speech. It usually worsens over time and can cause problems with walking.

Video Evidence Raises Questions

The psychologists referred to a video from Trump’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. In the clip, Trump appears to sway from side to side as he walks along the red carpet.

Dr. Gartner observed, “Trump is weaving all along the carpet… if they pulled you over for a DUI and you walked that line, you know, you would fail.”

Dr. Segal added, “It’s very odd, isn’t it?” noting that Trump does not appear intoxicated but looks like he is losing control of his leg movement.

Trump’s Own Claims on His Health

Despite such observations, Trump continues to project confidence about his health. He has repeatedly said he is mentally sharp and recently claimed he “got the highest mark” on his cognitive test.

However, Dr. Segal and Dr. Gartner argue that the test is not a true measure of cognitive strength and is relatively simple to pass.

Health Concerns Could Impact Politics

The debate around Trump’s health is heating up as the US heads toward another election cycle. Experts say that if signs of dementia worsen, they could affect public confidence in his ability to lead.

For now, the psychologists insist that Trump’s motor and verbal behaviour deserves closer medical scrutiny.
