Milwaukee police arrested three men in the kidnapping case of seven-year-old Jamal White. A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene where Jamal was rescued safely, and two 27-year-old men were arrested at the house where Jamal was kidnapped.
How was Jamal White Taken?
Jamal, only seven years old, was abducted at gunpoint by a masked assailant on July 11. The crime took place in front of his residence on the 6200 block of West Hustis Street on Milwaukee’s northwest side. The suspect, clad in a black face mask, compelled Jamal into a white Jeep Renegade.
Almost 24 hours after, Jamal was found safe approximately six and half miles from the place near 39th and Lloyd. At 6:36 p.m. on July 12, the Milwaukee police confirmed, “Jamal has been found and is safe.” They continued, “The Milwaukee Police Department wishes to thank everyone for their cooperation in this case.”
Information of Arrests and Charges
The 25-year-old who was arrested on the 2000 block of N. 39th Street at 5:45 p.m. July 12 on a probation violation hold.
One of the two 27-year-olds arrested at the original site of the kidnapping is being charged tentatively with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, and the other for resisting and obstructing.
Police have not yet confirmed that these charges are necessarily related to the kidnapping of Jamal, and no more information has been released since he was found safe.
Relief Felt by Family of Jamal’s Return
Jamal’s cousin, Nikki Harrington, told the Journal Sentinel she was happy and relieved to hear that he was fine. Cherica Morrise, introducing herself on Facebook as Jamal’s grandmother, wrote, “Baby J has been found and he’s okay! One person has been arrested. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support!
