Statue of Trump & ‘Closest Friend’ Epstein Holding Hands Mysteriously Appears on National Mall

A provocative statue of Trump and Epstein sparks debate on the National Mall, highlighting their controversial past and public reactions.

An abrupt polemical act was displayed in the National Mall in Washington, DC a 12-foot statue featuring the former President Donald Trump clasping hands with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. These two figures with the statue have also three plaques at the base that highlight Trump's complicated and controversial relationship with Epstein.

One of the plaques announces in bold lettering a long-lasting bond between the two figures, stirring very strong reactions across the political spectrum. The installation is attributed to The Secret Handshake Project a small group of activists who employ satirical public art for provoking discussions and critiques against political figures.

What is Irony & Political Commentary on Statue?

The Secret Handshake Project is known for creating much noise when it comes to provocative public anti-art and this marks the third anti-Trump piece of theirs to be unleashed into the public in Washington since June.

The stated mission is to use humor, irony and art to motivate social and political conversations more than that are some sections of a purported birthday letter that Trump wrote to Epstein, adding even more scandal and speculation to the work. While the group seeks to change minds and cause arguments, a rapid response from representatives of the people was at hand.

Official Responses & the Complex History Between Trump & Epstein

A White House spokesperson described the statue as waste of resources and reiterated Trump's long-time criticisms against Epstein, saying that the former President distanced from Epstein years ago including from his private club.

The history of Trump and Epstein is very publicly well documented both were regularly seen together in social events in the 1990s and early 2000s, with Trump once referring to him as a terrific guy. The relationship was said to have dissolved way before Epstein's arrest on sex trafficking allegations occurred in 2019.

Trump perpetually calls Epstein a creep while denying encountering anything related to Epstein's criminal activities. The Department of Justice has also made it clear that no evidence links Trump or other prominent figures to Epstein's illegal acts, dispelling most conspiracy theories that followed Epstein's death under custody.
