Sergio Gor has been appointed as the new ambassador of the United States to India. He is a close aide to Donald Trump and served as a Special Envoy for South and Central Asia.
Gor expressed his gratitude on X, “Beyond grateful to Donald Trump for his incredible trust and confidence in nominating me to be his next US Ambassador to India and Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs! Nothing has made me prouder than to serve the American people through the GREAT work of this Administration! Our White House has achieved historic results in MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! It will be the honour of my life to represent the United States."
On Friday, Trump announced his appointment through a social media post, “I am pleased to announce that I am promoting Sergio Gor to be our next United States Ambassador to the Republic of India,” Trump said, adding that Gor had been “a great friend, who has been at my side for many years.”
US President also highlighted his contribution, stating that Gor has worked on historic campaigns, which are published in Trump's best-selling books. He also managed one of the greatest Super PACs backing their movement.
Vice President JD Vance said that Gor would make a 'fantastic ambassador of the US to India'.
