A deadly shooting took place on Wednesday at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, US. The attacker was identified as 23-year-old Robin Westman. He opened fire on school children attending a church service. Two students were killed in the attack.

Officials confirmed that Westman used three different weapons — a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol. Dozens of rounds were fired during the incident. The shooter was later found dead in the school parking lot from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Disturbing Messages on Weapons

Authorities revealed shocking details about the attacker’s weapons. On Westman’s guns and magazines were messages such as “Kill Donald Trump”, “Nuke India”, “Israel must fall”, and “Burn Israel.”

Other disturbing words included “Where is your God?” and “For the children.” Names of past school shooters were also written on the magazines, some in Cyrillic script.

US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the authenticity of the video found online. She wrote on X, “This deeply sick murderer scrawled ‘For the Children’ and ‘Where is your God?’ and ‘Kill Donald Trump’ on the rifle magazine. This level of violence is unthinkable.”

Shooter’s Online Videos

Investigators discovered two videos uploaded on a now-deleted YouTube channel called “Robin W.” The first video, about 10 minutes long, showed a cache of weapons and ammunition. At one point, the attacker held a firearm and said, “This one is for me. In case I need it.”

The second video was nearly 20 minutes long and featured two journals. The first was over 150 pages, all written in Cyrillic. The second had more than 60 pages, with the last entry dated August 21, 2025. Both journals remain under investigation.

The video also contained a letter addressed to the attacker’s family, apologizing for what the shooting would mean for them.

A Troubling Pattern

Officials confirmed that Westman purchased all weapons legally and had no prior criminal history. Authorities believe the attacker acted alone.

Since January, there have been 146 school shootings in the United States. In memory of the victims, President Donald Trump directed that the flag be flown at half-staff.

Around the world, people are concerned about the gunman’s weapons because they contain anti-Israel views and the words “Nuke India.” Experts say this illustrates how radical ideologies on the internet can sway individuals who are already disturbed.

The journal’s use of the Cyrillic alphabet has also sparked worries about possible foreign influences or online extremist organisations.
