US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene sharply criticized President Donald Trump on Friday, claiming he attacked her, spread false statements, and tried to intimidate Republicans ahead of an upcoming vote on releasing Jeffrey Epstein documents.

In a detailed post on X, she wrote, “President Trump just attacked me and lied about me. I haven’t called him at all, but I did send these text messages today. Apparently this is what sent him over the edge.”

Greene said Trump’s anger began after she urged his administration to make public any Epstein-related records it holds. She added that “it’s astonishing really how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level.”

She further alleged that Trump was “coming after me hard to make an example to scare all the other Republicans before next week’s vote to release the Epstein files.”

Despite their long political alignment, Greene said she has invested “too much of my precious time” and “too much of my own money” supporting him, but clarified, “I don’t worship or serve Donald Trump. I worship God… and I serve my district GA14 and the American people.”

Trump Withdraws His Endorsement of Greene

Her comments came shortly after Trump publicly ended his support for the Georgia lawmaker. On Truth Social he wrote, “I am withdrawing my support and endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the great state of Georgia.”

Trump accused Greene of constant negativity, saying all she does is “complain, complain, complain.”

According to Reuters, Trump said the dispute started when he showed her a poll indicating she had slim chances of winning a Senate or governor’s race without his endorsement backing he said he never intended to provide.

He hinted that voters in her district may want a primary challenger and pledged to support “the right candidate” against her in the next year’s midterm election.

Greene Says Rift Stems From Push to Release Epstein Files

Greene insisted that the fallout happened because she pushed for transparency on any Epstein documents held by the administration. She said her efforts triggered Trump’s backlash.

US media have noted that Trump has previously dismissed the renewed focus on Jeffrey Epstein as a “hoax” fueled by Democrats.
