Trump was accompanied by 35 relatives of the Americans who were killed, one wearing a 'Make America Great Again' cap. Trump called the day 'the dumbest in history'. He stated that it was the 'most embarrassing day' to ever exist in the country.

Biden's administration carried out the final exit from Afghanistan; however, it was followed by a withdrawal deal that Trump had negotiated earlier with the Taliban. A government report of 2022 implies that both Trump and Biden's administrations' decisions led to the military's collapse in Afghanistan and added to the Taliban takeover.
