Jeffrey Epstein allegedly employed private detectives to surveil FBI agents investigating him for sex trafficking, as per shocking new revelations. His intention was to sabotage the federal probe by tailing agents, searching through their garbage, and employing tactics of intimidation.
The report, released by Rolling Stone, indicates Epstein’s influence went far beyond victims and local law enforcement to America’s elite investigative agency. The scandal has also caused further rifts within Donald Trump’s second term, already embattled over how Epstein-related files were handled and the so-called client list.
Epstein’s Tactics Directed at FBI Investigators
Jeffrey Epstein’s group operated a surreptitious operation to harass FBI investigators, according to US law enforcement officials who spoke on condition of anonymity. The methods involved following them, sifting through their trash, and putting them under private surveillance.
“They put them under surveillance, they followed them, pulled their trash,” said one of the officials, who added that Epstein “employed private PIs to follow the investigators.”
These tactics are reminiscent of Epstein’s conduct during the mid-2000s Palm Beach investigation, in which he harassed victims and stalked local police.
Former Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter, who initially directed Epstein’s case to federal authorities, wasn’t surprised. “This sort of thing happens more than people know,” he said. “Around-the-clock surveillance, rummaging through trash — it’s a tactic.”
Trump Administration Faces Political Firestorm
These disclosures are made during an era of turmoil in President Donald Trump’s second term. His government has come under acrid allegations of not declassifying Epstein-related documents, despite campaign pledges during Trump’s 2024 bid to reveal the “client list.”
Numerous Trump enthusiasts and MAGA personalities have alleged that the Department of Justice is stonewalling. Some of Trump’s cabinet members now require answers.
DOJ Meeting Turns Heated Over Epstein
A recent closed-door session involving Bongino, Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles was said to have turned ugly.
US media reported that Bongino stormed out after the meeting and is reportedly weighing his resignation over the DOJ’s handling of Epstein documents.
Trump attempted to ease tensions in a Truth Social post. He defended Bondi and said, “We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD… all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein.”
Surveillance Footage Raises More Questions
Last week, the DOJ released 11 hours of surveillance footage from Epstein’s jail cell. The aim was to shut down conspiracy theories that Epstein was murdered.
Rather, the gesture backfired. Onlookers pointed to a one-minute missing segment in the video, which served to spark even more speculation.
Attorney General Bondi attributed the deleted segment to an ordinary system reboot. But critics, such as MAGA personalities Laura Loomer and Tim Pool, decried the response as insufficient and called for her resignation.
Fallout Continues Amid Rising Pressure
As Epstein’s strategies come into sharper relief, the political fallout grows further. Claims of cover-ups, DOJ backroom brawls, and internal MAGA indignation have converted the scandal into a new crisis for the Trump administration.
For the moment, the most important question is: who else did Epstein attempt to silence — and what still lurks in the buried secrets?
