Idaho police searched a river for a suspected body but found a life-size sex doll. The sheriff defended the response, emphasizing safety over embarrassment.
Idaho: During a three-hour search at the Blackfoot River in Idaho over a tip about a dead body, the authorities discovered something that left them in shock. They discovered a life-size sex doll.
Caribou County Sheriff Adam Mabey confirmed to the East Idaho News that they launched a full-scale operation near Soda Springs, which is about 16 miles away from the report site. However, when the team went inside the water, they found a life-size doll. He also noted that the doll seemingly looked like it was submerged in the water for quite some time.
“When my team went in and pulled it out of the water, that’s when they realised it was just a life-size companion doll,” he stated.

When someone spotted the doll floating on water, they thought it was a dead human body and informed the authorities. Drones were released quickly afterwards, and soon a whole search and rescue operation was underway. However, the 'urgent' situation turned out to be something completely different.
While there is no dead body, Mabey said that the owner of the doll could be charged with 'littering' “This whole story has generated a lot of jokes and stories and really interesting Facebook comments,” Mabey added.

“I was hoping it’d blow over and no one would ever hear about it … but I can also see it’s an interesting story. I’d rather go ‘all out’ for a search even if it later turns out that the situation was not a real emergency,” said the sheriff.
