A 35-year-old nurse from Florida, Alexis Von Yates, is now behind bars. She was arrested for sexually assaulting her 15-year-old stepson. The incident took place while her two younger children were asleep in another room.

In September 2025, Von Yates accepted a plea deal. This helped her avoid a sexual battery charge. Instead, she was convicted of lewd and lascivious battery. She received a two-year prison sentence.
During police questioning, Von Yates gave a shocking reason for her actions. She said, “Step-son reminded me of husband.” She also told officers that the teen’s genitals resembled his father’s.
After the incident, Von Yates lost her nursing license. Reports say she had joked about watching “step-mom pornos” a week before the assault. On the night of the crime, she told the boy, “How horny she was after not having sex for two weeks". She added, “I wish you were 18, because you are not old enough.”
Von Yates described the night in graphic detail. She said they vaped cannabis oil and watched a movie before having sex. Her husband returned home and caught them in the bathroom, and the teen then fled the scene.
After the incident, Von Yates tried to question the boy and claimed that she told him to stop, but the teen denied her version of events. He feared his father would beat him.
The father later took the boy to his grandparents and scolded him, saying he had “ruined his life.” The grandparents also discouraged the teen from reporting the assault to his biological mother.
Three months later, in October 2024, Von Yates herself sent an anonymous tip to police. This led to the investigation and her arrest.
In court, the teen’s biological mother shared her pain. She called Von Yates a “coward.” She added, “I will be by his side to support him, just as I always have.”
