Courtney Tamagny, daughter of Leonia Police Chief Scott Tamagny, has filed a lawsuit in the United States accusing her father of repeatedly raping her over a decade as part of a 'ritualistic' cult, along with neighbor Kevin Slevin and others. The allegations have deeply divided the small Bergen County community.
Tamagny has made her traumatic experiences public on a podcast and started a Change.org petition for her father's suspension, as reported by news.com.au. Her father and Slevin both vehemently deny the charges, stating they were investigated and cleared earlier.
Court records disclose stunning allegations that Tamagny was coerced into 'ritualistic' abuse with masked men in nearby forests. "Courtney was taken to the woods in Rockland County New York, and there was what looked like other middle-aged men there with masks on their faces," the suit alleged. It went on to describe scenes with 'fire and animals being burned', coupled with chanting.
The complaint further stated, "she was sexually assaulted in those woods by defendant Slevin, defendant father, and some of the other men present."
Courtney claimed her father threatened to kill her mother if she ever spoke out. She testified the abuse started in 2009 when she was around four years old and continued through 2020.
She further claimed two sisters were also victimized, frequently sedated on drugs when the mother was not around or sleeping.
The suit mentioned that Courtney's mother, Jeanne Tamagny, is divorcing Scott Tamagny and has filed as a plaintiff. Courtney stated she had repressed the memories as a means of survival until a recent doctor's appointment for genital pain triggered everything. When asked by the doctor if she had been raped, she started experiencing flashbacks. Her therapist subsequently reported the claims to police in 2022.
In April, Courtney appeared on the podcast We’re All Insane, where she alleged that her father’s family had long been tied to a satanic cult, involving neighbors in North Jersey. She claimed the cult ritualistically raped her and her siblings, trafficked children, and even burned them alive.
She spoke of 'taking kids' blood', 'drum circles', and 'burnings of animals, animal skins, humans as well'. She said it was intended to frighten victims into silence. "What frightened us the most is, 'OK, we're doing this to these people we've trafficked, why wouldn't we do this to you? Because we just did that to this young girl or this young boy'," she explained.
Courtney also said cultists employed secret tunnels in committing these atrocities. She described sinister 'games' such as 'Hunter and Gatherers', in which children were released into the woods, pursued, and beaten. "They made it sound like a game and you could win. You weren't going to win, you were always going to get hit, they just needed you to look scared and run," she said.
Chief Tamagny and Slevin each have flatly denied the charges. Slevin's lawyer, Kevin Corriston, said to The Post, "It's made up out of whole cloth." He added that Homeland Security, New Jersey's Attorney General, and the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office had all probed and determined 'no basis at all for these outrageous allegations'.
Corriston went on to say, "Having received no satisfaction from lawmen, she now plans to sue everybody who participated in the investigation."
He contended there was no possible means 'some kind of secret satanic child sex cult' could have existed in Riverdale, New Jersey, and termed it 'a fantasy invented in her mind'. He also claimed Courtney's tale was 'remarkably similar' to book and movie plots.
