A grass fire erupted south of Billings, Montana, on Friday, Aug. 1, bringing alarm to residents as smoke and haze diffused throughout the city. The origin of the fire was identified as the Pryor dump, where emergency responders from Yellowstone County were sent on Friday afternoon, said The Billings Gazette.

The first sighting of the fire was reported around noon near Edgar Road, which is west of Pryor. Come evening, the effects of the fire were seen and felt throughout Billings, with people seeing smoke and a pungent odor of burning all over.
