A screenshot of a viral post circulating on social media appeared to show President Donald Trump harshly criticizing the nomination of the streaming show Fortnite Friday for the 2025 Streamer Awards.
The post, formatted to look like a Truth Social update, called the show "socialist propaganda" and implored people to vote against it. The only problem as the post is fake and despite its wide circulation, there is no record of Trump making any such statement.
Hosted by the popular streamer ConnorEatsPants, Fortnite Fridays has cultivated a following with its light-hearted interview format combined with political satire, very often at Trump's expense.
The show has also hosted a number of Democratic politicians, such as California governor Gavin Newsom. Its nomination in Best Streamed Series for the 2025 Streamer Awards has excited fans and creators.

The fake post, written in a familiar online Trump voice, accuses the show of peddling liberal & socialist propaganda and says it has platformed America's biggest terrorists.
The message instructs viewers not to vote for the series, comparing it unfavorably with other streamers such as Adin Ross and Tectone. The post is utterly faked, but realistic enough to have fooled thousands.
Neither Truth Social nor official White House channels show any record of Trump commenting on the nomination. That makes the viral claims baseless, as the president hasn't talked about Fortnite Friday this year. The incident is another example of how easily fake political content can spread during award season, particularly when it involves well-known public figures.

Launched in 2022 by creator QTCinderella, the Streamer Awards celebrate top performers across Twitch, YouTube and emerging streaming platforms. The 2025 ceremony on December 6 at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles boasts 35 categories, its biggest lineup yet. Fortnite Friday will be pitted against other major shows for the Best Streamed Series title.
