Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, 81, was hospitalized Saturday night in New Hampshire after his vehicle was struck from behind at high speed. The accident occurred shortly after Giuliani reportedly stopped to assist a woman who was the victim of domestic violence.

According to his spokesman and head of security, Michael Ragusa, “Mayor Giuliani was flagged down by a woman who was a victim of domestic violence prior to the accident. He rendered assistance and contacted 911, remaining on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety.”

Crash Leaves Giuliani with Multiple Injuries

Moments after the incident, while Giuliani was back on the highway, his vehicle was rear-ended. He was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors treated him for a fractured thoracic vertebra, multiple lacerations, contusions, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg.

Ragusa added that Giuliani’s “business partner and medical provider were promptly contacted and arrived at the hospital to oversee his care.”

Giuliani’s Resilience Praised

Despite his injuries, Giuliani’s team reported that he was in good spirits. Ragusa, speaking to the New York Post, remarked, “The mayor is in great spirits. He’s a beast. He survived 9/11.”Giuliani, who served as New York City’s mayor from 1994 to 2001, became internationally recognized for his leadership during the September 11 terrorist attacks. His strong ties to Donald Trump and continuous legal issues have kept him in the public eye in recent years.
