After the Russian President Vladimir Putin met US President Donald Trump, a range of conspiracy theories erupted online. Some of them suggested that the Russian president never even visited Alaska, instead he sent one of his body double for the high-stakes meeting.
Many users claimed that the man who sat foot on the American soil looked way different from the Russian president. Observers pointed out fuller cheeks, different walk, and a brighter demeanor.
“I think that is Putin’s body double #5. Does not quite look like him. His cheeks are rounder and does not walk with his customary low movement right arm. A classic KGB walk he uses,” one social media user wrote.

Other users backed the claim saying that Putin rarely smiles. One conspiracy theorist stated, “Cheeks are too pudgy and he smiles too much. Looks like he's trying to hold back laughter the whole time.” Another noted that he looked too animated.
Putin having body doubles is not a new claim on the internet. There are previous claims of Putin using his doppelgangers for public events, foreign trips etc.
“Its literally not even the real Putin. They didn't even send the good double, they sent ‘Jovial Putin’, the expendable one that usually just makes minor public appearances and went to visit Kim in NK,” one X user wrote.
Another remarked, “Anyone that still doesn't understand that this is Putin's most expendable double is a moron.”
The conspiracy theorists also believe that these body doubles might have undergone several surgeries to look like 72-year-old Putin.
One of the key details observed by theorists was Putin's signature walk. When Putin walks, his right arm unusually stays till while other one swings normally, a style commonly known as 'gunslinger walk'.

Neurologists explain that this is not a medical condition but due to KGB training which trains Soviet Unions to keep their weapon hand steady and ready to draw a firearm in case needed.
Theorists who believe that it was not the 'Real Putin' at the Alaska summit said that the man was missing his 'gunslinger walk'.
